Una Comunión was founded in Mexico City in 2006 by Paola Herrera and Enrique Rivero as a production company focused on the development and production of independent feature films.
Paola Herrera studied Communication Science and Art Administration in Mexico City. She decided to dedicate herself to filmmaking after colaborating with Carlos Reygadas in his second feature film “Battle in Heaven” (Official Selection in Competition Cannes 2005). Afterwards, she worked as production manager in “Sangre”, Amat Escalante’s debute film (FIPRESCI Cannes 2005 and the Silver Alexander 2005). Later on she joined Mantarraya´s production team as producer and was involved in the development of feature films including “Los Bastardos”, by Amat Escalante and “La influencia”, by Pedro Aguilera. Independently, she’s also collaborated in the development and in the line production of others films. In May 2006 she established Una Comunión.
Enrique Rivero studied Industrial Engineering in Mexico. After finishing his studies he started working in the banking industry in Mexico and then moved to the United States to work a year for Citibank. That year was a point of inflexion for Enrique, since he decided to change his life and to study cinema. He has worked in different areas related to the cinematographic production, from the photography to the art. As Director he has conducted two shortfilms: “Nidra” and “Schhht” , produced by Sinsan Productions. In February 2005 he worked as First Assistant of Direction in the feature film “La Influencia” (Director’s Fortnight Cannes 2007), by Pedro Aguilera. His first feature film is “Parque vía”.
